The remaining 30-40% of entry level housing/public sector jobs require no experience of housing, but rather knowledge of housing issues (30%) and a comprehensive range of general skills, competencies, and experiences (70%) which is known as the competency framework.
You do not need housing work experience to work in the social housing sector
You do not need an accredited housing certificate/course to secure a housing job
You do not need to complete any voluntary work or work placements
You do not need specific or a minimum level of formal qualifications
You cannot apply for a permanent housing job by submitting a CV - you must complete a comprehensive & effective supporting statement covering each competency area with a relevant, engaging and specific example
